Registration Is Now Open

Parents:  Registration is now open for the Fall Semester of 2010.   As you are aware, some classes will fill quickly.  We want to emphasize that due to increased interest in Brighton Academy, there may be an even higher demand for classes this next semester.  We will do our best to accommodate, but we strongly encourage parents to register for classes as soon as possible. Our registration process is greatly simplified for this year!   For detailed instructions on how to register - click here.

To register for classes, please follow the steps below:

You can start registration now (steps 1, 2, and 3 below).  Step 4 will be open on or around March 4th. 

1.  Register as a Parent / Guardian by selecting "Create an Account" link in Login area.  Please follow thse instructions.  (free - please allow up to 48 hours for approval).  Additionally, if this is the first time your family has registered at Brighton Academy, please email Heather at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .  She will want to talk with you before you register. 

2.  Research classes from the course list.  You can see the class list by clicking on the Courses tab on the main menu.  Look for the "Course Categories" menu area on the right side of the screen. Select any course category or the "all courses" link. You can review any of the courses by selecting the "blue" info circle to the right of the class name. You can also select the teacher link to see their bio.  Check class times to ensure that you do not double book your students.  Click here to access the class schedule.  (you can also click the sub-menu item under "Fall 2010 Registration --> Fall 2010 Class Schedule").  Please ask questions before registering and feel free to use the website tools (Forum, PM, email, etc.)  Teachers, Students, Parents, or Admins will be happy to help you select the best courses for your students.

3.  Register your Student via "Create an Account" link.  Select Student Plan and pay registration and service fees per Student ($80 per semester via PayPal - please allow up to 48 hours for approval).  See more information on Student Registration and Service fees here.  Note you will need a unique email address per student account.  You can register for a free email account at GMail, Yahoo, Hotmail, or other email service.

4.  Log In with your Student Account:

     a.  Select class from course list.

     b.  Pay for the class via PayPal button.  Please note that PayPal can take time to register your payment.  Access to the class site will be avaiable once your PayPal payment has cleared and PayPal has notified our system.  

Note: A small percentage families have had problems when they click the PayPal button.  The error message tells them "Sorry - your last action could not be completed".  The issue seems to be related to using Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) in "frames" - we have found a few simple ways to address this issue...

1.  Open our Course / Moodle site in a separate browser window.  Open a new window in your browser and go to "my.brightonacademy.net" - Brighton Course Link.  If you are not automatically logged in, you can do so by clicking the "login" link in the top right of the window and enter your username and password for the Brighton Academy website.  Once logged in, you can navigate to the class and select the PayPal button.  From there you should not have issues proceeding to PayPal and paying for a class.

2.  Download and use the Google Chrome Browser - http://www.google.com/chrome.  We have not had any reported problems with Chrome.

     c.  Repeat for next class. 

     d.  Next time you go to the main Course page - you will see the list of classes that you are registered for in the "My Classes" menu on the right of the page.  Congratulations!  You have registered for your classes and we look forward to being a part of educating your student!
